My name is Janine and I run Janine Alger Designer Maker creating embroidered memories.
Throughout my whole life, all I have ever wanted to do was create. From knitting pointless bits of string with pencils as a child, to crocheting, painting, printing and even playing with porcelain as an adult. Creativity is in my blood. My whole family, from my grandparents, to my mother and even my father, who is as a soldier, by trade, have creative tendencies. From painting, paper craft and sewing to repurposing old forgotten objects.
I went to university at the age of 24, after having my second child. This helped cement my creativeness and helped me to shape my style.
I am inspired by the world around me, living in semi rural Shropshire, nature plays a huge part in my work. I like to take long walks in the woods and all of the beautiful surroundings.
